About

Thomas Laigle is a sound and visual artist based between Berlin and France. His transdisciplinary practice combines artistic research, scientific collaboration and low-tech experimentation. Engaging with natural phenomena and living organisms as active agents rather than representational subjects, he creates environments in which sound and light function as dynamic and interdependent processes.
His work is rooted in an Art–Science approach and developed through close collaborations with researchers in entomology, microbiology, and oceanology, giving rise to works that challenge anthropocentric modes of perception and propose alternative forms of attention toward the living world. His creations take various forms —sound sculptures, light installations, audiovisual performances, film— with a constant concern for the balance between aesthetics, sustainability and sensory experience.
